A group of 81 juniors and seniors were inducted into the National Honors Society on Oct. 4. Dedicated to its mission of community service, this year’s NHS has a total of over 150 members.
The induction ceremony, which was held in the auditorium at 7 p.m., began with a speech by Assistant Principal Mari Farley and teachers Tina Stroman and Cari Corley, the NHS sponsors. Candidates were presented with their certificates and were welcomed by Natasha Williams, NHS president, who also gave a speech.
New members will participate in a variety of community service projects throughout the school year, including Pennies for Patients and Toys for Tots.
