After coming off of a rough season with a record of 4-9-2 last year, Titan girls’ soccer is ready to start their new season with new skills, new confidence, and a new head coach. Their first game was on Thursday against Legacy High School. The team lost a tough one 4-1 after being tied at halftime.

“We started off really strong and worked as a team, but once [Legacy] scored we put our heads down,” junior Kaitlyn Reilly said about the loss.

Legend’s only goal was scored by freshman Cameron Bell coming in the first half. Three of the four goals by Legacy came in the second half of the game.

Legend uses triangle formations on the field when playing against their opponents. There are many different types of triangle formations that the team uses. Not staying in these formations could have been a factor in the loss on Thursday, according to Reilly.

“We need to make sure that we keep in our formations during the game,” Reilly said.

The girls’ next game is today against the equally 0-1 Liberty High School in Colorado Springs. They hope to redeem themselves after last week’s game.

“I can see us going to the playoffs this season once we get used to playing with each other,” Reilly said about this young season.
